Under the hood of the new 'Popemobile' resides a six cylinder, 3000 CC Alfa Romeo engine and the transmission is automatic. This Lancia, believed to be the K-car or the Kappa's successor, is derived from the Dialogos concept car displayed at the 1998 Turin auto show. New production techniques, first applied to the Fiat Multipla, will also be used to make this model. The manufacturing process will feature a traditionally stamped floorpan coupled to steel body sections attached on a space frame structure. |
